Trim
Hold to inflate. Let go to vent. That is the whole control, and it is harder than it sounds.
- One touch
- Daily reef
- Ghost of your best dive
- Two dive sites
What it teaches
- 01Air in your BCD expands as you rise, so the same tap is twitchy at 3 m and sluggish at 30 m.
- 02Corrections lag. Over-correct and you oscillate; anticipate and you hover.
- 03Depth costs gas: consumption scales with ambient pressure.
- 04Stay deep too long and a decompression ceiling appears above you.
How the score works
Distance, photographs of marine life and near misses all pay more at depth. Depth also burns air faster and loads nitrogen, so the best dives are controlled ones.
